Abstract
Nel Hydrogen US, part of Norway’s Nel ASA, has won a series of purchase orders from Collins Aerospace for PEM electrolyser stacks used in submarine life-support systems. The stacks split water to generate oxygen for crews on board.
The largest order, worth about $12m, covers stacks for US Navy submarines. Further orders linked to US, British and French naval programmes add about $7m. Including smaller orders received earlier in the month, Nel’s submarine-related orders from Collins Aerospace total around $20m.
All of the orders will be counted in Nel’s third-quarter order intake. The deals show steady demand for Nel’s PEM technology in defence, alongside its core business of electrolysers for renewable hydrogen production.
